Ethics and Culture

Students are supported in recognizing and developing their personal attributes and working independently, as well as collaboratively. They are encouraged to contribute to society.

Our core values of promoting individuals’ self-development and concern for others drive the focus on ethics and culture. We believe that while children and youths are developing the concepts of self, they also need to understand set norms and values for various contexts.

Positive and negative experiences shape children’s cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional development. Children’s characteristics shaped from early childhood experiences at home, school, and community influence positive or adverse reactions from their environments and reify their genetic potential. Therefore, we pay attention to students’ unique needs.

We expose them to ethical culture, values, and norms on empathy and compassion. They learn about diverse cultures to promote anti-bias behaviors, cultural sensitivity, cultural competencies, and multicultural values.

Our character education teaches children to treat and care for themselves and others ethically. We use character development literature of diverse genres, including biblical stories and real-life experiential opportunities in teaching ethics concepts, such as kindness, goodness, patience, self-control, and serving others.
