Parents Education and Special Education Advocacy Support

Adesuwa Academy recognizes parents as their children’s first teachers and the need for collaboration between students’ homes, schools, and the community.  Therefore, we aim at promoting healthy partnerships between parents and their children’s schools. Adesuwa Academy offers parents workshops and seminars focused on equipping parents with strategies to work with their child and their child’s school to support their academic and socioemotional development.

We support students receiving special education. Many children who have a disability may also have talents and gifts that should be maximized. Our goal is to educate children receiving special education services in the least restrictive environment to help them thrive. Towards that end, we help parents of children experiencing academic or behavioral challenges. Parents are supported in understanding the special education identification, placements, and services, to know how best to help their children.
